Why Northern Data Centre

Recovery deserves more than an assumption.

NDC is building a Canadian, recovery-focused service for organizations that want clearer evidence, closer support, and honest operating boundaries.

Our point of view

Data protection is a business outcome.

The value of a backup appears at the moment it must become usable data again.

We begin with the workload, its dependencies, the organization’s fallback options, and who has authority to act. That context helps define a protection approach that can be explained and reviewed.

Recovery objectives are not guarantees unless they are measured, supported, and expressly contracted. NDC will not imply otherwise.

Operating principles

Clear by design.

01 · EVIDENCE

Verify the path

Use agreed recovery activity and evidence to improve confidence and expose gaps.

02 · PROXIMITY

Operate in Canada

Design service delivery around private Canadian infrastructure and accountable local support.

03 · CLARITY

State the boundary

Document inclusions, exclusions, dependencies, and assumptions before an incident tests them.

What we will not imply

Capability without overpromising.

  • No automatic failover claim. High availability is a different service and is not included by default.
  • No universal RPO or RTO guarantee. Objectives depend on workload, architecture, testing, and contract.
  • No 24×7 promise by implication. Support windows and escalation paths must be explicit.
  • No continuity guarantee. Backup and recovery services reduce risk; they do not remove it.

Recovery starts with context
