An authorized sample restore tests one agreed recovery path. NDC records what was restored, how it was checked and what the result means.
Verification model
Bounded, authorized, and recorded.
The sample, recovery point, destination, checks and authorized participants are agreed first. We record exceptions and next actions. One result does not guarantee every future recovery outcome.
- Define: select the recovery object, destination, success criteria, exclusions, and authorized participants.
- Isolate: prevent collision with production identity, network routes, notifications, and external actions.
- Recover: perform only the approved activity and preserve technical evidence.
- Review: record outcomes, exceptions, limitations, and next actions.
Evidence boundary
A successful backup is not a verified recovery.
Protection Health reports authoritative backup evidence. Recovery Readiness requires a separately authorized and scoped recovery activity. Neither status creates a guaranteed recovery time, RPO/RTO, availability result, failover promise, or continuity outcome.
